FANE’s mission is to push ecological discussions and action to the fore of public awareness and policy-making in Newfoundland and Labrador. FANE promotes ‘ecological conversion for everyone:’
- raising ecological awareness and consciousness
- bringing together diverse partners in informed ecological, action-oriented discussions
- assessing and shaping policy decisions
- promoting ecologically-minded political leadership and democratic decision-making processes
- promoting alternative energy sources to fossil fuels
- developing healthy alternatives to local patterns of consumption and consumerism
- fostering enthusiasm and commitment to engage the challenges of climate change
